GRANTHAM — The Grantham Selectboard has chosen resident Emily Owens to be the next town administrator.

Owens will begin her new role June 30, according to a news release from the Selectboard. She replaces Melissa White, who is retiring from Grantham this month after serving as town administrator for 18 years.

Owens currently serves as the assistant treasurer and board clerk for the planning and zoning boards. She has previously served as chair of the Joint Loss Management Committee.

“Her extensive knowledge of the Town’s operations, land use regulations, and her demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with elected officials, staff, and the community make her an ideal candidate for this position,” the Selectboard wrote.

Throughout her career, Owens has been employed as a project manager, systems analyst and medical practice manager, according to the release. She has also been involved with community organizations, including serving as treasurer for Cub Scout Pack 276.

“Emily’s commitment to service excellence, continuous learning, and civic involvement aligns with the Town’s values and goals,” the Selectboard wrote.
