NEWPORT — A 28-year-old Warner, N.H., man has pleaded guilty to criminal charges connected to his work as an unlicensed asbestos abatement contractor at two different job sites in West Lebanon and Claremont and will spend a month in jail providing he abides by the terms of his conditions.
Jordan Dunne pleaded guilty to multiple counts of theft by deception and violating the state’s Consumer Protection Act in Sullivan County Superior Court on June 18, according to court records. He was sentenced to 12 months in the House of Corrections, with all but 30 days suspended, and placed on probation for two years, court records show.
He was also ordered to pay restitution to the victims and to have no contact with them.
“Mr. Dunne worked cooperatively with the Attorney General’s office to resolve the case against him, taking responsibility for his conduct, apologizing to those harmed and paying restitution,” James Rosenberg, Dunne’s attorney, said via email. “Like so many others, he struggled with substance abuse at the time of the events in this case, but has successfully overcome that struggle with the support of his loving family. This was a sad case for all involved and Mr. Dunne looks forward to his future having accounted for the wrongs in this case.”
Dunne allegedly falsely represented to both job sites that he was a licensed state asbestos abatement contractor and had submitted building samples for testing, according to the New Hampshire State Attorney General’s Office.
