FAIRLEE — Voters approved zoning amendments and cannabis retail sales in town in Australian ballot voting on Tuesday.

In a vote of 116-61, Fairlee voters approved the zoning amendments, which aim to be friendlier to affordable housing development.

In a vote of 91-86, they approved the cannabis article. In that, Fairlee joins several Upper Valley communities on the Vermont side of the region that now allow retail sales of cannabis. Shops currently exist in Bradford, Randolph, White River Junction, Windsor and Woodstock.
