HANOVER — The offense came alive for the Dartmouth College field hockey team in a pair of home victories this weekend, as the Big Green defeated Northeastern, 4-3, on Friday and Sacred Heart, 4-2, on Sunday.

Dartmouth scored three times in the first quarter against the Huskies, starting with senior forward Holley Cromwell’s first goal of the year, assisted by freshman forward Zoe Schaffer. Junior forward Caroline Carr scored twice later in the period, one unassisted on a rebound and one via a pass from junior midfielder Bronwyn Bird.

The Big Green scored their fourth just after halftime, with Cromwell setting up junior Payton Altman. Dartmouth led by three at that point and nearly let it slip away, allowing Northeastern to score twice in the fourth quarter, but the hosts were able to hang on.

Two days later, the Big Green fell behind after a quarter to the Pioneers, but scored two in the second and two more in the third to pull away. Cromwell again opened the scoring for Dartmouth, this time assisted by Bird. Senior Myah Pease gave the Big Green the lead on a penalty stroke shortly before halftime. Bird set up Altman for the third goal, and freshman Boau-Lilly Shepherd scored her first of the year via an assist from junior forward Lila Browne.
