WEST LEBANON — The Rite Aid on Benning Street was closed on Friday after a drainage pipe from the roof broke and flooded the store during an overnight rainstorm, the store manager said.

Fortunately, the store didn’t lose many of its products because the flooding was contained to the floor, Jeff Alexander, the manager, said in a Friday afternoon phone interview. Still, he said, it was a “complete pain” to have to dry out the store and clean it.

Crews were at work on Friday, he said. “Hopefully, by this time tomorrow, we should be pretty close to getting back to normal.”

The Rite Aid was the sole occupant of the Powerhouse Plaza to be damaged by flooding, Alexander said.

It was “just one of those crazy things,” he said.
