WOODSVILLE — Woodsville Elementary School will be closed Thursday due to a stomach bug outbreak.

“By the end of the school day today, 80 students were either already home with the bug or were sent home sick from school,” SAU 23 administrators wrote in a Facebook post.

While there were outbreaks at all of the schools in the Haverhill Cooperative School District including the middle school and high school, Woodsville elementary was hit the hardest.

Custodial and maintenance staff did a deep clean of the school during the day Wednesday and are planning another one for Thursday. The school will reopen Friday.

Parents are asked to keep their children home until they do not have a fever or vomit for 24 hours, without the use of medication.
