Vote Kenney off Executive Council in November

New Hampshire Executive Council District 1 deserves better! The Council was most fortunate to have an accomplished and effective councilor, the late Ray Burton, for 34 years. I knew Ray Burton, and Joseph Kenney is no Ray Burton.

Ray was progressive and worked hard for positive results for Council District 1. Ray supported accepting federal assistance that would improve people’s lives.

Mr. Kenney continually votes against women’s health programs, COVID-19 relief funds and other funds designed to assist District 1. Mr. Kenney has suggested that Hanover, Lebanon, Plainfield, Cornish, Grantham, Newport and the City of Claremont be removed from Council District 1.

It is apparent that Mr. Kenney does not care about western New Hampshire and does not want to represent this area. If this change were to happen, it would guarantee that District 1 would become a permanent Republican seat. We call this gerrymandering.

In November, the voters of District 1 will face a stark contrast and have an opportunity to bring back Mike Cryans to represent us. He is a stalwart individual who will work for all residents of Council District 1 regardless of political affiliation.

Perils of an overeager government

Supply and demand rule all markets, and central planning does not work.

Inflation happens when the government (Federal Reserve) introduces new money into the existing supply, and, holy cow, has the U.S. done a lot of that over the last two decades — especially the last two years.

Inflation is predictable and avoidable. Many warned us years ago about what we’re economically and geopolitically experiencing today. We did it to ourselves, but it does not have to be this way.

The next time the government wants to manipulate the cohesion of the entire world economy, or to “stimulate” their own economy, say no.

The next time the government pulls on your emotional heart strings to pass a 1,000-plus page monster of taxpayer waste, especially one that is rushed through, say no.

The next time the government wants to violate civil liberties in the name of “safety,” say no. If they do so anyway, disobey.

The next time the government decides upon the narrative of the week with state media sponsorship, be very suspicious, especially when the response to contrary views is censorship instead of active dialogue, or when there are known corrupt financial situations involved. The New York Times just (finally) quietly confirmed the authenticity of the famous “Hunter Biden laptop,” which provides ample evidence of the Biden family’s international corruption, including in Ukraine, among other things. Do you still believe that to be “Russian disinformation,” as you were told?

What else have you been lied to about and believed? Next time, look past the propaganda and investigate.

Listen to what the censored have to say, not the headline about them from those who have supported the censoring.

Reevaluate who you’ve been voting for.

Maybe we’ll finally learn the hard way — because the “easy way” would have been to elect Libertarians like Ron Paul a long time ago — that the government must drastically shrink, be less involved in our daily lives and in other global affairs, and return our currently fiat currency to something backed by a real commodity, as it was by gold until the early 1970s.

Lenience on Assad set stage for Putin

Putin must not get away with his scorched earth invasion of Ukraine, but will he ever stand trial for his war crimes? If, for over a decade, institutions like the United Nations and International Criminal Court did not hold Syrian dictator Bashar Assad accountable for similar conduct in his ongoing war on his citizens and opposition forces, Putin must now feel he has carte blanche to continue.

In both cases we witnessed red lines being crossed with neighborhoods destroyed and brutal, indiscriminate bombing of civilians. All of it played out on-screen in real time. This cannot stand; both autocrats must be punished. But if and when an endpoint can be achieved, will there be the will to hold the feet of these men to the fire? Failure to do so would also be a crime.

Fighting fire with finances

Putin sends tanks and troops. Biden sends sanctions. How’s that working out?
