NORWICH — Selectboard Chair Roger Arnold defeated challenger Pamela Smith, 577-334.
Five hundred and seventy-seven Norwich voters opposed and defeated an article that would have authorized the town to spend up to $51,000 to undertake a police and public safety study. Three hundred and forty-two voted in favor of the article.
All other articles passed. The voters authorized the Selectboard to establish several new reserve funds, including one for unanticipated expenses, one for operational performance and development, and a third to respond to the emerald ash borer.
