Town Meeting 2022: Establishment of Highway Building Reserve Fund passes in Newbury

NEWBURY — Brad Vietje defeated David Tansey by 53 votes in a contested race to be Newbury’s lister. There were no other contested races.

In a 154-24 vote, Newbury passed an article that will establish a Highway Building Reserve Fund to meet the future building needs of the town’s highway department. An initial deposit of $40,000 from the fiscal year 2021 highway fund surplus will go into the proposed reserve fund.

All of the articles on the warning passed.
