Article of note: Voters will be asked if they want to take out a bond of $525,000 to “purchase and equip” a fire truck and likewise borrow $87,000 for the sand shed site preparation.
Contested races: A three-year term on the Selectboard expiring in 2025; a six-year term of supervisor of the checklist; and a three-term as library trustee.
Budgets and spending articles: The proposed town budget of $1.59 million is $93,200, or 6.2%, higher than the $1.5 million town budget proposed and approved last year.
When, where and how to vote: Australian ballot voting on town officials will take place on Tuesday, March 8, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Springfield Fire Station. Voting will reconvene Saturday, March 12, at 9:30 a.m. at the same location to vote on the general municipal budget and special warrant articles.
