Article of note: The Grantham School District is again seeking voter approval to borrow and spend $700,000 for the renovation of the Grantham Village School playground. The playground article was rejected by voters last year.
Contested races: Constance A. Jones and Shaundrea M. N. Kenyon are each running for an open seat on the Selectboard.
Budgets and spending articles: Voters will be asked to approve a $4.2 million town operating budget, which is an approximately $320,000, or 8.2%, increase from the current year’s operating budget.
The Grantham School District is seeking voter approval for a $10.2 million school budget, about $87,400, or 0.85%, below the $10.3 million school budget proposed and approved last year.
When, where and how to vote: The Grantham School District meeting and voting on the school budget will take place at the Grantham Village School Gymnasium on March 1 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Voting to elect school and town officials will take place at Grantham Town Hall on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voting on the town budget will occur at the business meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m.
