Article of note: Voters will be asked to approve $267,000 to be raised by taxes for Fairlee’s Capital Budget and Program adopted by the Selectboard. The money would go toward capital improvement reserves for town buildings, lands and highways, as well as emergency equipment and upkeep of Lake Fairlee.
Contested races: Unless presented with a write-in candidate, there are no contested races in Fairlee this year.
Budgets and spending articles: Voters will be asked to approve a $1.16 million operating budget this year, which is a $1,000 increase from last year’s general fund expenses.
When, where and how to vote: An informational meeting will be hosted by the Selectboard on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 6:00 p.m. via Zoom. Links to the meeting can be found on the warning on the town website. Voting will take place by Australian ballot at the Fairlee Town Hall at 75 Town Common Road upstairs in the auditorium. Polls will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
