HANOVER — The Dartmouth College women’s hockey team got back to the ice for the first time since the conclusion of the 2019-2020 season, but Harvard spoiled the Big Green’s return in a 4-1 ECAC Hockey decision on Friday night at Thompson Arena.
The season opener marked Liz Keady Norton’s debut as Dartmouth’s new coach. The COVID-19 pandemic canceled the Big Green’s schedule last year.
Freshman goalie Maggie Emerson made 37 saves in the loss. Sophomore forward Tiffany Hill scored Dartmouth’s lone goal five minutes into the contest, with Gabby Filling earning the assist.
The Crimson scored twice in each of the the last two periods to pull away. Keely Moy accounted for two goals and an assist for the visitors.
The Big Green return to action next weekend. They face ECAC opponent Colgate at 3 p.m.
