WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — Hartford police are investigating the death of a 45-year-old White River Junction man whose body was found in a tent located off Holiday Drive on Monday night.

Police were called to the site near the interchange of Interstates 91 and 89 around 7 p.m. for a report of an unconscious male in a tent and determined that the man, Jason Moots, was dead, Hartford Deputy Police Chief Brad Vail said on Thursday. The tent was part of a small encampment used by people who are homeless, he said.

Vail said the death “is not suspicious at this time.” Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy for the cause of death. Anyone with information is asked to call Hartford police at 802-295-9425.
