DAVIDSON, N.C. — Alex Gu posted a pair of 4-over par scores of 76 to lead the Dartmouth College men’s golf team on day one of the River Run Invitational hosted by Davidson College.
The Big Green stood at 48-over-par as a team and in last place among the 16 competing schools after their first day of competitive play in 19 months.
Gu was tied for 44th in the 84-player field with a final 18-hole round to come on Tuesday. Jason Liu shot 79-77 and Charles Petrie shot 81-76 for Dartmouth.
It’s the Big Green’s first action since Feb. 28, 2020. In the time since, school administration cut the program in a budget action only to be later forced to reinstate it because of a Title IX lawsuit threat.
