WOODSTOCK, Vt. — Linda Diak, of Chester, Vt., Mary Jane Arvidson, of Brownsville, and Norma Ippolito, of Chester, Vt., were honored for the pieces they submitted to the 35th Annual Quilt Exhibition at Billings Farm & Museum in Woodstock.
Diak’s quilt, “Berkeley,” was selected by juror Marti DelNevo; Arvidson’s “Floral Bouquets” was selected by juror Nola Forbes; and Ippolito’s “Confetti Carnival” quilt was selected by juror Froncie Quinn. “Confetti Carnival” also received the Billings Farm & Museum Staff Choice Award, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization.
The Quilt Exhibition is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 22. It can also be viewed virtually at billingsfarm.org/35th-annual-quilt-exhibition.
BRADFORD, Vt. – People who live in the greater Bradford, Vt., community are invited to participate in a virtual forum titled “Moving Forward Together” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The forum is sponsored by the Vermont Council on Rural Development. Prior to the event, the group will host sessions beginning at 2:30 p.m. at Bradford Academy about the creative economy, infrastructure and connectivity, youth and recreation, housing and lodging, inclusivity and welcoming, and economic development, workforce and jobs.

NORTH HAVERHILL, N.H. — After a year’s hiatus, the North Haverhill Fair is back.
Events begin Wednesday and run through Sunday at the North Haverhill Fairgrounds, located at 1299 Dartmouth College Highway.
Among the events are ox pulling, a classic car show, two demolition derbies, amusement park rides and musical performances.
Food will be available for purchase.
Admission is $12 per person for those over 12. Children 5 to 12 are $3 and children under 5 are free. Parking also is free. A full schedule of events can be found at nohaverhillfair.com.
RANDOLPH, Vt. — The Clara Martin Center is looking for submissions for its 5th annual art/writing show entitled “Resilience: Celebrating Creativity in Mental Health, Wellness and Recovery” which will be displayed from Sept. 24 to Nov. 14 at the White River Craft Center in Randolph.
Applications are available by emailing GPlumb@claramartin.org and are due by Aug. 20.
People must be Vermont residents to enter the show and preference will be given to applicants who live in the Upper Valley, according to a news release from the nonprofit organization.
Poetry, 2D or 3D artwork and photography are all welcome. Artists must include a statement about how their work relates to the theme.
RANDOLPH, Vt. — Gifford Medical Center is holding a weekly pregnancy and post-partum support group from 1:30 to 3 p.m. each Tuesday at a conference room at its Randolph campus.
It is led by licensed mental health counselors Erica Schleif and Sarah Roberts, according to a news release from the nonprofit health care center. Each week begins with a check-in with each participant before discussing a topic selected by Schleif and Roberts.

LYME, N.H. — Portions of East Thetford Road will be closed in Lyme from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday as New Hampshire Department of Transportation workers repair culverts.
The road will be closed to thru traffic and down to a single lane for local traffic, according to a news release from DOT. It will be reopened after crews finish their work each day. For more information, call 603-448-2654.
HARTLAND, Vt. — Vermont State Game Warden Asa Sargent, of Hartland, was honored as the 2019 “Warden of the Year” earlier this month.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sargent did not receive the award until earlier this month during a ceremony attended by Gov. Phil Scott and Fish and Wildlife Commissioner Louis Porter.
Sargent was honored alongside Sgt. Travis Buttle, of Shaftsbury, Vt., who received the “Warden of the Year” award for 2020.
Sargent has been a game warden since 2016 and is a certified wilderness first responder who assists in remote search and rescue operations, according to a news release from the Fish and Wildlife department.
Sargent “received the award for his high motivation and effort, positive attitude, public outreach achievements, and outstanding casework resulting in a 100% conviction rate as of 2019,” according to the release.
“I want to thank both wardens for their outstanding efforts to protect Vermont’s fish and wildlife resources and to serve the people of Vermont,” Scott said in the release. “Wardens Sargent and Buttle were chosen for their integrity, professionalism and commitment, and they have earned respect from other wardens and the public. These awards are very well-deserved.”
