WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, VT — Wendy Ann Smith, 70, of White River Junction, Vermont passed away on March 8, 2021, after a valiant battle with ovarian cancer.

Wendy was born to Robert and Isobel Smith on August 28, 1950. Wendy graduated from Keene High School in Keene, NH in 1968 and Plymouth State College in 1972. Wendy pursued and was awarded a degree from what was then called NH Vocational Technical College in Claremont, NH and later earned a master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University. Wendy served on the faculty of the River Valley Community College in Claremont, NH in the Respiratory Therapy program. In retirement, she worked at the Good Buy Store in White River Junction, VT.

Wendy lived a full life with a wide circle of friends. She is survived by two brothers, Steven and Ginger Smith of Hancock NH, Jeffrey and Donna Smith of West Lebanon, NH; two nephews, Samuel Smith of Hancock, NH and Gregory Smith of Concord, NH; and other relatives.

Wendy’s interests included bird watching, meditation and poetry. She was an avid genealogist and worked tirelessly with friends and family on their trees. Wendy was a member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. She was also President of the Upper Valley Dog Park where she enjoyed spending time with her rescue dog, Auri. Wendy was an active member of the North Chapel of the Universalist Congregation located in Woodstock, Vermont, serving as photographer and in the choir. Wendy enjoyed playing guitar and the violin. She especially enjoyed a trip to Ireland to visit family.

Burial will be at prospect Hill Cemetery in Flemington, NJ. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction, VT is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the North Chapel of the Universalist Congregation, Woodstock, Vermont.
