WOODSTOCK — Woodstock Police Sgt Joe Swanson defeated Selectboard member Jill Davis to win a three-year term Tuesday.

Swanson, whose late father Phil Swanson served as municipal manager in Woodstock for 34 years before his death in 2019, won 541 votes, while Davis received 400, according to preliminary results.

Meanwhile, town Constable Kelly Linton won 638 votes to beat back a challenge from Devon Kurtz, who garnered 122 votes.

Voters also approved Woodstock’s $6.7 million spending plan, which amounts to a 3% increase.

Other spending-related articles, including requests for $86,000 to continue paving on town and village roads and $51,250 for operation and maintenance of the Norman Williams Public Library, were also OK’d.
