RANDOLPH — Randolph residents voted 514-380 to allow cannabis dispensaries in town when the sale of recreational amounts of marijuana becomes legal in Vermont next year, joining Strafford, Windsor and several other towns across the state in deciding to “opt in” to such shops.
In Australian ballot voting on Town Meeting Day on Tuesday, voters also approved the $3.26 million general fund budget, 713-195, and all other spending measures were also approved.
Selectboard members Perry Armstrong and Larry Satcowitz were unopposed for re-election. Emery Mattheis, an assistant in the Town Clerk’s Office, was elected to succeed Town Clerk and Treasurer Joyce Mazzucco, who is retiring after more than 22 years in Town Hall.
