Hot topic: Instead of a traditional floor meeting, Chelsea residents will vote for all articles by Australian ballot.
Budget: Voters will be asked to approve a $1.29 million general fund budget, with $915,300 to be raised by taxes.
Noteworthy articles: Also on the Town Meeting ballot is Fire District 1, where voters will also be asked to allow the Chelsea Volunteer Fire Department to enter mutual aid agreements with other fire departments and place $25,000 in a reserve fund to purchase a new apparatus.
Contested races: Jennifer Edson, Mary Ellen Hayward Parkman and Mark Whitney are all running for a single three-year term on the Selectboard. Whitney is also the only candidate running for a two-year term on the board.
When and where: Australian ballot voting on all warning articles and town offices will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Chelsea Town Hall. People can also request absentee ballots by calling or emailing town clerk Karen Lathrop at 802-685-4460 or town.clerk@chelseavt.us
