WHITEFIELD, N.H. — Lebanon High athletes swept the top six positions among the boys and took five to the top eight spots with the girls to sweep a 5-kilometer freestyle cross country ski race at White Mountains Regional High School on Saturday.

Daniel Mladek led the way for Lebanon’s boys, winning in 13 minutes, 36.6 seconds. Seth Carl (13:59.0), John Bieszczad (14:10.3), Sam Shipman (14:13.4) and James Barnett (15:01.7) finished the scoring, with Micah Achmoody (sixth, 15:12.4) adding punctuation for the Raiders.

Ayla Weale won again for the Lebanon girls (14:49.6). Zoe Chinn was third (16:41.7), Mya Barnett took fifth (17:09.5), Anna Illsley grabbed seventh (17:32.9) and Anna Goodwin was eighth (17:45.5) for a narrow team win over Kennett.

Boys team scores: Lebanon 490, Kennett 369, White Mountains 363.

Girls team scores: Lebanon 388, Kennett 384, White Mountains 272, Berlin 92.

GIRLS HOCKEYLSK 3, BBTW 2

WEST LEBANON — Lena Nowell’s second score of the game, on the power play, broke a 2-2 tie with 5:46 remaining on Saturday night, lifting the Lebanon-Stevens-Kearsarge girls hockey team to a 3-2 victory over visiting Bishop Brady-Trinity-West at Campion Rink. 

Bishop Brady made it a 2-1 game in the second period, but Emma Leute scored her second goal in as many games with 5:37 until intermission to even the score. 

“This was our most complete game of the season, and I’m glad we fought back and finished it off,” LSK coach Mike Sheehan said. 

Abby Braley had two assists and Makayla Maccioli and Elena Robb each tallied an assist for the Raiders, who improved to 2-4-0. 

LSK goalie Paige Hoegler made 19 saves on the night, stepping up big in the final two minutes of play by making some key denials on a penalty kill. The Raiders host ConVal on Tuesday. 

Hanover 6, Concord 3

WEST LEBANON — The Marauders improved to 5-0-0 thanks to Sage McGinley-Smith’s hat trick. Kaye Lindsay and Maeve Lee both had a goal and an assist, and Sophia Brackett also scored for Hanover.

“Our first period was much better than our first period in Concord Tuesday night,” Hanover coach John Dodds noted. “We played with a little more urgency and composure, and it set the tone we were looking for.”

Danielle Rudd (two), Rory Seelig and Mackenzie Liu had assists, and goalie Katie Smith stopped 22 shots. Hanover hosts Exeter on Friday.
 

BOYS HOCKEYKeene 5, LSM 3

KEENE, N.H. — Down 3-0 after one period, Lebanon-Stevens-Mount Royal rallied to score three consecutive unassisted goals in the second period before falling to the Blackbirds at Keene Ice. 

Griffin Auch struck first with 12:39 remaining in the period. Andrew Duany followed only 73 seconds later on another unassisted goal. Aidan Yates ended the scoring with 6:05 until the second intermission. 

The Blackbirds, however, scored with 28 seconds left in the period to take a 4-3 lead into the third. Another score in the final period iced the win for Keene. 

Goaltender Toby Cromwell made 22 stops for Lebanon, which falls to 2-2-0 and hosts Monadnock-Fall Mountain on Wednesday.  

Salem 3, Hanover 2

SALEM, N.H. — The Marauders jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but allowed a goal in the last minute of the second and two in the last five minutes of play to leave Icenter Salem with a loss. 

Angus Frew tallied his first career goal and had an assist, and Spencer Lawe added the second score for Hanover (1-5). Jack Stadheim notched two assists while John Hill had one. 

Luke Ives made 32 saves in net for the Marauders, who host Exeter on Tuesday night.
