NEW LONDON, NH — Nancy Migliore Kisel died peacefully at the Alpine Heath Care Facility in Keene, NH on January 12, 2021 at the age of 95. Nancy was born on April 1, 1925 in Yonkers, NY to Guiseppe and Maria Lusia (Cacciotti) Migliore . Nancy was the oldest of 12 children. Shortly after her birth, the family moved to Dobbs Ferry , NY where she lived for 91 years before moving to NH in 2017. She graduated from a secretarial course at Dobbs Ferry High School . Nancy married Frank (Fay) Kisel, her high school sweetheart in 1948 after Frank had finished his service during World War II. Nancy’s early years were spent working at Phillips Labs in Tarrytown, NY. After the birth of her two girls, Faye Anne and Jody Ann, Nancy became a homemaker. When the girls went to school, she decided to go back to work working first for SCANDIA catalog sales and finally doing clerical work for Oceana Publications and Neighborhood Bible Studies, both located in Dobbs Ferry. After retiring at the age of 85, she did volunteer work at Cabrini Nursing
Home, also in Dobbs Ferry.
Nancy loved her family and travel and was happiest when both were combined. She spent many years traveling on family vacations and even separate trips with each of her grandsons. Her favorite trips, however, were the family trips to visit her extended family in Sicily.
Nancy is predeceased by her parents, Fay, her husband of 25 years, her brothers, Nunzio (who died in infancy) and Michael, her sisters, Anna, Gina, Ellen and Mary.
She is survived by her daughters, Jody Joseph, Faye Anne Chaplin and son in law, John Chaplin, her grandsons and wives, Geoff Chaplin and Meira Kensky of Iowa and Joshua and Diana Chaplin of Massachusetts, her great gandsons, Elliot and Rhoan, her sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret and brothers, Nunzio, Joseph and John and wives and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held later in the year when the COVID crisis has abated. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
