SALEM, NH — Sybill Martel Trachier, age 84, of Salem, NH, beloved wife of Philip J. Trachier, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2020 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Lebanon, NH on January 12, 1936 to Theodore and Lucy Thibodeau Martel. Sybill attended Lebanon High School and then received a degree in History from UNH. During her senior year at UNH, she rekindled her friendship to Phil, from Hanover NH, whom she met a decade earlier at a Catholic Church Bible School in Lebanon. They were married on July 19, 1958 and had been happily married for 62 years.

Sybill started her career as an elementary school teacher after moving to Salem. She then left teaching to stay at home to raise her three children and later returned to work as a medical transcriptionist.

Sybill was known for her endless energy and great sense of humor. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, dining out, dancing and traveling. She was an avid gardener and always had an assortment of beautiful flowers, vegetables and plants around the home. She was also a regular spectator at all her grandchildren’s events and will be sadly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband and three loving children, Suzanne Barnett and husband Dan, Philip J. Trachier and wife Robin, Elizabeth Burke. Grandchildren, Michael and Mark Barnett, PJ and ChloeTrachier, and twins Caitlyn and Connor Burke.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, a celebration of life for Sybill will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to a local animal shelter.
