WOODSTOCK, VT — George H. “Papa Puddin” Michaels, 63, of Woodstock VT, passed away on December 28, 2020 after a long battle with kidney disease.

George was born on June 13, 1957 to George and Lucy Michaels of Newport, RI. He joined the U.S. Army after high school and went on to find his passion in the kitchen, and a love for the great outdoors. He became a cook for numerous restaurants in the North Conway area. George’s other passions included drumming, scuba diving, and he left behind a very impressive hat collection. His ability too strike up a conversation, and make a friend wherever he was will have a lasting impression on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

George leaves behind two loving Children, Emily Michaels and Fiance Robert Leblanc of Fairhaven MA, His son Christopher and his wife Kristen Michaels, and his loving granddaughter of Amesbury MA, brothers Robert and his wife Joyce Michaels and Nephew Benjamin Michaels of Newport RI, Frank Michaels, Sister Lucy Ann and husband Nick Coleman of Poplarville MI, and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, and sister Doris Michaels.

George’s services will be scheduled at a later date with family and friends and will be kept private. George was impacted by the kindness and generosity of the nurses, physicians, and friends he met through the VA and would be proud to have his legacy support any of their great causes.
