New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu and Vermont Gov. Phil Scott along with four others governors across New England have extended the suspension of interstate youth hockey competition through at least Jan. 31, 2021.
The ban includes both public and private schools, along with youth hockey leagues.
This does not impact interstate collegiate, professional or U.S. national team activities.
New Jersey, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Massachusetts previously announced a regional suspension on Nov. 12 that was set to expire Thursday.
The suspension is due to coronavirus outbreaks associated with interstate youth hockey activities, such as the Central Vermont Memorial Civic Center outbreak which has been the cause of over 100 cases.
