ENFIELD, NH — Amy Tangen, 52, died peacefully Thursday, December 10, 2020 at her home.

Amy was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 6, 1968, daughter of Jack and Sharon Ellingboe. She grew up in Minnesota, Michigan, and Kansas. She obtained a BA in English (with a focus on Shakespeare) at the University of Kansas, while coaching gymnastics full time.

She married Paul Tangen and had a daughter, Jane Tangen. They eventually settled in Grantham, NH, where she worked as a coach at Pioneer Gymnastics, then at various jobs within the Lebanon School District.

She was a wonderful mother, wife, coach, and friend. She was a bright light for everyone who met her. She loved the Upper Valley, rap from the 90’s, books, living on lakes, and her family and friends. She loved her trips to Norway, Britain, Italy, and Greece.

Preceded by her sister, Kris, and is survived by her parents, Jack and Shirley Ellingboe, Sharon and Lou Navin, her husband Paul, daughter Jane, and many other loved family members.

A socially-distanced calling will be at 5-7 pm, Monday, December 14th at Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School Street, Lebanon, NH. We ask that masks are worn and everyone stay 6ft apart. Because of COVID, we will also be holding a gathering in one year for anyone that wishes to wait until after the pandemic.

A scholarship for young women at Lebanon High School has been created in Amy’s memory. It was Amy’s mission to help women pursue their dreams. This scholarship was her idea and we would ask everyone to contribute if you can. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please send a check to: Lebanon High School Women’s Scholarship Fund, 53 NH Rte 4A, Enfield, NH 03748. Please include your email address.
