GRANTHAM, NH — John S. Lazarz , 87, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Grantham, New Hampshire. He was born on February 18, 1933 in Ludlow, Massachusetts and graduated as President of his class at Ludlow High School. He excelled in the band, playing the clarinet and he later was stationed at West Point Military Academy as a member of the marching band.
He attended St. Anselm’s College, Boston College, and Columbia University, earning a Master of Science in Biology and a Master of Arts in Teaching. He spent his career teaching at Attleboro High School and was an inspirational educator.
John was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Victoria Lazarz; sisters, Marion and Sonia; and brothers, Walter and Stanley. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Beverly Lazarz. John leaves two children, Michael Lazarz and his wife Nichole of Dover, NH and Christine Witkowski and her husband Alan of Murray, Kentucky. John was blessed with two grandchildren, Connor and Sophia Lazarz. He is also survived by two sisters, Wanda and Jane.
John was dedicated to his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid reader and a person of deep faith. John will be missed by many.
A private Mass will be celebrated at the Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Enfield, NH. Committal will be held at a later date.
