CLAREMONT — A case of COVID-19 has been reported at Stevens High School in Claremont, according to a letter that was sent to parents and staff from Assistant Superintendent Donna Magoon Monday.
She wrote that the case is not connected to another COVID-19 case that was reported out of Disnard Elementary School in Claremont Friday.
Magoon did not specify whether a student or staff member had contracted the disease. The person “did not have contact with any of our students or staff during his/her infectious period,” she wrote.
The school has disinfected and cleaned areas that the person might have come in contact with, and officials say there’s no need to close the school, according to the letter.
The person may have had contact with members of the school “outside of school hours” and if that’s the case, the person or the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services will contact anyone who could be at risk, the letter said.
