DORCHESTER, NH — George Martin Decato, age 23, died at home in a tractor accident on Sunday, October 25, 2020. George was born on August 4, 1997 in Brandon, Florida.

George attended school in the Mascoma school district before being homeschooled by his father and grandmother. George had a passion for finding out how things work and studied engineering and sciences. Just for fun, around age ten, he built working engines out of Legos® with all but the diesel fuel. He was a whiz at the computer. He immersed himself in nature, studying and observing animals, especially birds, insects, and spiders, finding humor in all of it. Most recently his interests led to the collecting and studying of rocks.

George was deeply interested in music. He was an accomplished bass player, taking up the electric bass at 20 years of age and practicing 2 to 6 hours a day. As a musician and sound engineer, George worked together with his father, played and recorded music, finding middle ground, harmony, and rhythm together.

George is survived by his father, Martin Dean Decato; paternal grandmother, Regina Phyllis (Bill) Decato; his friend and honorary stepmother, Anna Jenny (LaBombard) Mazur; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Romeo Martin Decato.

Family and friends are invited to Calling Hours from 5-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon, NH. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield, NH.
