ENFIELD, NH — Carl “Babe” Ryea, Jr., 73, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020. He was born to the late Carl & Georgianna (Loupis) Ryea, Sr. He attended schools in Enfield, NH and enlisted in the Air Force where he proudly served during the Vietnam War. Carl married Shirley J. Kendall in 1988. He worked for Radio Shack for a period of time and happened to work with a drummer from Aerosmith. He later retired from Timken Aerospace after a 30-year career.
Carl was a member of the Lebanon Lodge of Elk’s, American Legion Post 22 and the Mascoma Club. He taught himself to play guitar and belonged to various area bands over the years. He enjoyed cooking and was always willing to help others and share his knowledge.
Babe is survived by his wife, Shirley Reya; a son, Richard Ryea; two daughters, Alisa Ryea and Kelley Lucas, and her husband, Tristen; five grandchildren; one great grandson; brother, Brian Ryea, and his wife, Theresa; three sisters, Shirley J. MacDonald, June Smith, and her husband, Charlie, Marilynn Capron, and her husband, Lucien; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to Babe’s graveside service at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Enfield on Thursday, October 15th at 11AM. Face masks and social distancing is suggested.
