TUNBRIDGE — Tunbridge Central School canceled classes for Thursday and Friday to replace a failed water pump.
Principal Michael Livingston said school officials noticed late in the day Wednesday that water was not coming into the K-through-8 school.
He said the pump, which was about 20 years old “and had served its purpose and life,” needed to be replaced. Because the piping to the well was made of metal, not plastic, pulling the pump was more involved than normal, and involved a backhoe, he said.
Livingston said school was expected to resume Monday.
