First photo: Luke McLane, 7, waits for his parents Annemieke, left, and Jeremiah to finish a final rehearsal before performing as the Cassotto Duo at the Chandler Center for the Arts in Randolph on Friday. The McLanes lost their Sharon home to a fire on Aug. 4 while they were vacationing and are now staying in Strafford. They hope to rebuild in the spring and The United Church of Strafford, where Annemieke is music director, has set up the McLane Recovery Fund where donations to the family can be made. “Really, this is the best place for us to be,” said Jeremiah from the stage, because of the therapeutic nature of music. “We just hope the concert tonight is a relief for people,” he said. “It’s a way to thank everybody,” added Annemieke.
Second photo: Audience members seated to comply with social distancing rules, above, wait for the start of the concert. Originally scheduled as part of the Vermont Chamber Music Festival which was canceled due to COVID-19, it’s the first on the Chandler stage since the pandemic began.
