SHARON – Police are looking for a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman walking down a road in Sharon early Monday morning.

The incident happened in the “early daylight hours” Monday as the woman was walking on River Road in Sharon, according to a news release from the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department.

A man who looked to be in his late 30s or early 40s came up to the woman and touched her “inappropriately,” according to the release. The woman ran away and the man got into his car, which looked like a small silver vehicle with Vermont license plates, and drove toward South Royalton, the release said.

Police declined to provide more information on when or where, specifically, the incident occurred. They also declined to provide more details on the nature of the assault.

Police say the man was tall, skinny and white, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and black basketball shorts. He is unshaven and has short brown hair, according to the release.

Anyone with more information is asked to call the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department at 802-457-5212.
