HOLLIS, NH — Arnold M. McCalmont, age 91, passed away on August 8, 2020 due to congestive heart failure. He was born June 19, 1929 in New York City, and grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and Fontana California. The son of Rose McCalmont, he survived his brother Sam who passed in 2005.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Rebekah Wright, who passed away on May 27, 2020. They were married on December 27, 1952 and graduated from Redlands University in Southern California the following year. Arnie went on to serve his country in the Navy and was a graduate of the U.S. Navy Post Graduate School, with advanced degrees in physics and meteorology.

After the Navy, Arnie founded and became CEO of Technical Communications Corporation, a small high-tech communication security company. He was a cryptographer, former race car driver, photographer, and an avid aviator. Arnie loved flying his aerobatic F22B airplane. He developed many close aviation friendships at Nashua Airport and Parlin Field, in Newport, NH.

Arnie was a remarkably strong-willed person who paved his own way through life. He exemplified a never give up attitude all the way to the end.

Arnie is survived by his three sons and their wives: James & Regina, Marc & Tina, Stephen & Jennifer; and grandchildren Tiffany, Mikal, Neil, Christina, Drew, Alex & Austin; and one great-grandson, Enzo.

A burial service will be held for family members at Old Main Street Cemetery in New London, NH. Date to be determined.
