Police were notified early Thursday morning after a male victim whom police did not identify was treated at Valley Regional Hospital for “serious but not life threatening injuries” after an assault and robbery at 142 Chestnut Road in Newport, the release on Saturday said.
Police obtained a warrant to search the residence, “collected a substantial amount of forensic evidence” and also interviewed several witnesses, the release said.
Police on Friday then issued arrest warrants for Mitchell Blaisdell, 18, of Claremont; Tyler Anstruther, 25, of Woodstock; and Savion “Curly” Thomas-Piche, 18, of Claremont, the release said, on felony charges of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and first-degree assault.
On Saturday, Anstruther was arrested by Lebanon police and Blaisdell was arrested by Newport police. Both were being held without bail at the Sullivan County House of Corrections pending their arraignment on Monday.
Police were still searching for Thomas-Piche as of late Sunday afternoon, and said the incident was drug-related. The release said additional arrests and charges are anticipated. Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact Newport Police Detective Stephen A. Lee at 603-863-3232 or slee@newportnh.gov.
