LEBANON — The Upper Valley Anglers 17Us dropped a 12-6 decision to Souhegan on Thursday evening in a New England Independent Baseball League contest at Lebanon High School.

The visitors owned a 10-0 lead before the Anglers’ offense connected. Ben Katz (Lebanon) got the home team on the scoreboard by walking in the home third and scoring when Wes Stocken (Hanover) drove him in.

Upper Valley brought its remaining runs across in the fourth inning. Jon Carrier (Lebanon) doubled, Hayden Chandler (Fall Mountain) singled him home and Trevor Pierce (Hanover) walked to get the rally started. Collin Pierce (Hanover) sacrificed another run across the plate, Katz delivered a run-scoring single, and Declan Flynn (Hanover) and Dom Van Leare-Nutting (Fall Mountain) also scored to close out the frame.

The game was called after five innings by rain.

Upper Valley closes out the NEIBL season with a pair of doubleheaders, visiting Oyster River on Saturday and hosting the STA Saints on Sunday at 1 p.m.
