NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Henry A. Broughton 76, peacefully passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the New Port Richey Center, Florida.
Henry was born August 17, 1943 to Harry and Helen (Frail) Broughton. He grew up in White River Jct. Vermont, where he attended school and worked a variety of janitorial jobs. Henry remained in his hometown until October 2011 when he moved to a nursing home in Florida to be closer to his eldest daughter, Kim.
Henry was happiest when fishing and hunting deer, he shared this love with his first born son, Rick. He was a family man who enjoyed vacationing with his then-wife, Margaret (Ducharme) Broughton and four children as well as their extended families. He loved those Ducharme sisters! Henry enjoyed watching old westerns starring John Wayne and those who knew him knew three things; he loved ketchup and Coca Cola and his most favorite song of all time was “Old Time Rock And Roll” After surviving the stroke in 2001 he found much happiness in the time he spent with so many who came to visit him. He thrived on the companionship and took great pleasure in hearing stories from the past and present.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Richard who died at birth, and a sister, Patricia Broughton. He is survived by his sister Pearl Tibbetts; four children and their spouses: Richard Broughton and Wendy Praetsch, Kimberly and Todd Clow, Wendy and Jason Muir, Heidi and Ted Fredrick; eight grandchildren: Joshua and Ashli Broughton, Amber Clow, Makenzie, Myles and Riley Muir, Briana and Nicole Lloyd; and three great grandchildren: Aryah and Aaliyah Broughton and Noah Yates.
