CLAREMONT — A 36-year-old Claremont man has been charged in the February death of a Lebanon native and her two unborn children.

A Sullivan Superior Court judge ordered Christopher Santolucito held without bail on Wednesday in connection to the death of Kacey Grizzaffi, 22.

Santolucito faces two counts of sale of a substance represented to be heroin; two counts of sale of a substance represented to be fentanyl; a count of sale of a substance represented to be heroin, death resulting; a count of sale of substance represented to be fentanyl, death resulting; and two counts of second-degree assault related to the stillbirth of Grizzaffi’s two fetuses.

Police believe Santolucito provided Grizzaffi with drugs just prior to her Feb. 21 death, which was caused by fentanyl toxicity, according to a Claremont police news release.

Grizzaffi was pregnant at the time with twins, whom she had named Austin Hunter and Corey Scott, according to her obituary.

First responders attempted unsuccessfully to revive Grizzaffi after responding to a possible overdose at Birney’s Mini Mart on Feb. 21.

An investigation into her death followed that included the seizure of cellphones, electronic monitoring equipment and various video surveillance systems, according to the news release.

Police had initially charged Santolucito with conspiracy to commit sales of a controlled drug, fentanyl.

A criminal investigation remains ongoing and further charges are anticipated, the release said.
