BARRE, VT — Daniel William Farnham, 71 died Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Woodridge Nursing Home in Berlin, VT after a period of failing health.
He was born March 24, 1948 in Randolph, VT the son of Dewey and Dorothy (Ruth) Taylor Farnham. He attended school in Tunbridge and graduated from South Royalton High School in 1966. Dan went to Castleton State for 1 1/2 years until he was drafted into the Army in 1968-1970. He was deployed to Vietnam in 1969 with the 101st Airborne in the Infantry. Dan was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and American Legion.
He worked for the Yale Fork Lift Company in Minnesota for a long time before returning to Vermont.
Daniel is survived by a daughter Kari Farnham Moeller and her husband Greg of Oklahoma; a son Brian Farnham of Minnesota; two grandchildren Colin and Maddie of Oklahoma; a sister Diane Farnham Mattoon (Hale) of Chelsea, VT; his uncle Euclid and Priscilla Farnham of Tunbridge, VT; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his sister-in-law Deborah Farnham and his companion Diane Cleary of Barre, VT where he made his home.
Dan loved sports and was very active when he attended high school and in later years when he got to enjoy his love of hunting, fishing and playing golf with his friends.
There are no public calling hours. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held later this spring.
