DORCHESTER — Voters are being asked to approve a $476,975 municipal operating budget at Town Meeting. Another warrant article asks for $65,837 from surplus funds to help pay for hazard mitigation projects supported by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Residents are also being asked if they will accept two deeds of land on the south side of Route 118 from William and Marianne Maloney.

In a contested Selectboard race, incumbent Amber Barsaleau, who was appointed to the post, is being challenged by former Selectman John Franz and by Adrienne Morrison, who serves as the animal control officer and on a solid waste board, for a three-year term.

Selectboard Chair Sherman Hallock is unopposed for a one-year seat.

Ballot voting will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, at Town Hall. Dorchester’s deliberative session will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, at Town Hall.
