NEWBURY, Vt. — Voters will weigh in on a contested race for a seat on the Selectboard, along with a proposed municipal budget of $640,000 and a request for $815,000 for highway maintenance.

On the Australian ballot, ​​Jeff McKelvey and Kelsey Root-Winchester are running for a three-year term. Selectman Stephen Cole is not seeking re-election.

The budgets, which will be determined during the floor meeting, call for $9,000 more general fund spending than the current fiscal year, and for $65,000 more for the highway department.

Town Meeting starts at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 3, at Newbury Village Hall. Australian-ballot voting that day for town officers runs from 10 a,m. to 7 p.m. at Newbury Elementary School.
