HAMILTON, N.Y. — The Dartmouth College men’s hockey team saw three one-goal leads evaporate before settling for a 3-3 tie with Colgate in an ECAC Hockey contest at Class of 1965 Arena.

Cam Strong, Quin Foreman and Drew O’Connor all put the Big Green (10-6-4, 7-4-2) in front over the game’s first two periods. The Raiders (8-10-6, 6-3-3) responded each time, the first two occasions through Paul McAvoy and the last off the stick of Ben Sharf with 5:51 left in the second period.

Dartmouth owned an 11-2 shots advantage in the third period but couldn’t solve Colgate goalie Andrew Farrier (34 saves) a fourth time. Adrian Clark had 26 saves for Dartmouth.

O’Connor and Strong also had assists for the Big Green, which visits RPI and Union next weekend.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL Harvard 64, Dartmouth 49

ALLSTON, Mass. — The Crimson (10-5, 1-1) went the (long) distance with 11-for-24 shooting from beyond the 3-point arc to avenge a one-point loss to the Big Green (7-8, 1-1) from two weeks ago.

Harvard scored the final nine points of the first half to take a 30-21 lead into the locker room. It extended to run to 18-3 at the outset of the third quarter. Dartmouth’s Asha Taylor and Katie Douglas hit back-to-back 3-pointers to stop the charge, but the Crimson kept up its torrid pace from deep to keep the Big Green at bay.

Paula Lenart posted a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Big Green, which picked up eight points and six assists from Annie McKenna and another eight points from Taylor.

Dartmouth faces a big Ivy League test when Princeton pays a visit to Leede Arena on Friday night.

Women’s HockeySt. Lawrence 5, Dartmouth 1

CANTON, N.Y. — The Big Green (5-13-3 overall, 2-10-3 ECAC) couldn’t capitalize on an early surge and lost on the road to the Saints.

Jennifer Costa scored for the Big Green in the second period to make the score 2-1. Catherine Trevors assisted.

Goalie Kayla Wormsbecher made a season-high 30 saves for Dartmouth, which was outshot, 35-25. The Big Green went 0-for-2 on the power play while the Saints scored a pair of goals on six chances with the extra player.

Dartmouth will visit Harvard on Friday.

SkiingDartmouth third at UVM

STOWE, Vt. — With juniors Tricia Mangan and Katharine Ogden earning runner-up results in their respective races, the Big Green finished in third place at the Vermont Carnival.

At Stowe Mountain Resort, Mangan claimed her second second-place finish of the weekend, following Middlebury’s Ali Nullmeyer with a two-run time of 1 minute, 54.3 seconds. Ogden, who won the women’s sprint races at the Craftsbury Nordic Center on Friday, finished behind the Panthers’ Sophia Laukli in the 5K skate (14:08.4).

Hanover native Adam Glueck took a team-best seventh in the men’s 10K at Craftsbury. Drew Duffy followed a second place in Friday’s giant slalom with a fourth in the men’ s slalom at Stowe.

The host Catamounts won the carnival with 903 points, followed by Middlebury (875) and the Big Green (833). Colby College hosts next weekend’s races in Maine.

FOOTBALL Lalos invited to Hula Bowl

HANOVER — A second Dartmouth football player is getting a chance to play before pro scouts when senior defensive end Niko Lalos participates in the Hula Bowl in Honolulu on Sunday.

Lalos was a first-team all-Ivy League honoree after last season. He had 35 tackles (10 for loss) along with 5.5 sacks and six pass breakups during the Big Green’s league championship campaign.

Dartmouth teammate Isiah Swann played in last weekend’s East-West Shrine Game, making a pair of tackles for the East defense.

MEN’S SQUASHRochester 7, Dartmouth 2

HANOVER — The Big Green (3-5) sustained a nonleague loss, with No. 3 Reg Anderson (11-8, 11-13, 14-12, 2-11, 11-4) and No. 9 Lucan White (11-6, 11-6, 11-7) recording Dartmouth’s only match victories.

The Big Green hosts St. Lawrence in a men’s/women’s twinbill at the Berry Center on Sunday.

MEN’S TENNIS

Dartmouth 4, Alabama 3

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Big Green (2-0) claimed the doubles point before splitting six singles matches with the Crimson Tide (4-1) to open a weekend against Southeastern Conference competition.

After taking two of three doubles matches, the Big Green grabbed wins from Charlie Broom and Dan Martin at the top two singles slots for a 3-0 lead. Alabama pushed across two wins at Nos. 3 and 6, leaving Dartmouth’s Peter Conklin to rally for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4 to take honors.

The Big Green meets LSU in Tuscaloosa on Sunday.

WOMEN’S TENNIS Dartmouth 7, Binghamton 0

HANOVER — The Big Green (1-1) had little difficulty in blanking the Bearcats at the Boss Center.

Dartmouth yielded just three games in sweeping all three doubles matches. The Big Green won all six singles matches in straight sets, led by a 6-1, 6-1 win for Chidimma Okpara at No. 1.

Dartmouth hosts Brown on Sunday.
