LEBANON — The Carter Community Building Association this week named its new executive director, a Hanover native who has worked as a spinning instructor at the nonprofit Lebanon fitness center.

Kerry Artman was chosen from among 58 applicants, according to an announcement from the CCBA on Thursday.

“Kerry impressed us with her professionalism, business savvy, and foresight in evaluating the CCBA’s current challenges and opportunities. She presented thoughtful and researched options for ensuring a bright future for the organization and its stakeholders, and we have complete confidence in her ability to guide us,” CCBA Board of Trustees Chairman Peter Land said in the announcement.

Artman graduated from Hanover High School and in 1996 from Smith College, where she majored in psychology. She worked in advertising, sales and marketing in Seattle and San Francisco and as a volunteer coordinator in the Hanover school district, according to her LinkedIn profile. She also served on the Hanover Co-op Food Stores board and as co-chair of the Hanover Improvement Society’s development committee.

Artman has also taught an indoor cycling class at the CCBA for several years. She starts in the new job Feb. 3.

Artman replaces Shelby Day, who resigned last fall after three years at the CCBA.
