HANOVER, NH — Lynne Sanderson Mitchell, 62 yrs. old, who made her home in Plymouth, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas night, 2019. She was in Florida, with her mother, helping her sister-in-law and her two nephews through some rough spots in life. That is who she was; a helper, a friend and a good listener, who always gave the best she had. Most importantly, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and friend. Lynne leaves her husband, Richard Lewis; her three sons, Malcolm, Benjamin and Wesley; and her grandson, Hank. Lynne also leaves her mother, Shirlee Sanderson Mitchell; and three brothers, Whitney, Timothy and Brooks.

Lynne spent her early years in New Canaan, CT. She moved with her family to Hanover in 1973 and graduated from Hanover High School in 1975. She went on to graduate from UNH and later received her law degree from the VT Law School.

In her professional life she worked as an attorney for 32 years on behalf of those for whom life was less giving, stable and fortunate.

Lynne spent her summers as a child in Small Point, Maine, which she loved and where she had many friends and again contributed greatly to that small community. In recent years she has spent a good deal of time at Squam Lake enjoying sailing and vacations together with her family.

Details about a service will be sent at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Small Point Summer School where she served as a Director in her younger years and later as President of the Board (Small Point Summer School, PO Box 58, Phippsburg, ME 04562).
