BALTIMORE — Host Loyola used a 22-0 run in the final 12 minutes and change to hand the Dartmouth College women’s basketball team a 72-56 defeat at Reitz Arena on Tuesday afternoon.

NCAA steals leader Stephanie Karcz lived up to her name for the Greyhounds (3-8), recording a triple-double of 10 swipes to go with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Three other Loyola players hit for double figures.

Loyola took over after an Anna Luce layup gave the Big Green (6-7) a 47-41 lead with 3:25 left in the third quarter. The Greyhounds scored the last 12 points of the period and the first 10 of the next, resulting in a 63-47 lead from which the visitors never recovered.

“We got into foul trouble, which makes us a young team, and Loyola took advantage of that today,” Dartmouth coach Belle Koclanes said.

Annie McKenna matched her career high with 21 points for Dartmouth, with Luce adding 10 points from the bench. The Big Green is off until its Jan. 11 Ivy League opener with Harvard at Leede Arena.
