NORTH HAVERHILL — A 48-year-old Vermont man who tried to solicit sex from minors using the internet has been sentenced to a year in prison, according to Grafton County Attorney Marcie Hornick.
David Hunt Sr., of White River Junction, pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted sexual assault and two counts of prohibited use of a computer during a court appearance earlier this month.
He received two 12-month sentences, which he will serve concurrently for one of the prohibited use charges and one of the attempted sexual assault charges, Hornick said.
The remaining four charges carry a 3 ½ to seven-year sentence, which is suspended for 10 years.
Hunt was one of several men arrested on similar charges after undercover operations by Lebanon Police in February and March of this year.
During the investigation police had a conversation with Hunt on a social media site while Hunt thought he was speaking with a juvenile.
He traveled to Lebanon with the anticipation of meeting up with a child but instead was taken into custody by police, according to an initial news release from Lebanon police.
