NORWICH, VT — Dr. Winslow Hayden Arnold, Jr. died at home on November 2, 2019. “Win” was born January 15, 1930, in Hartford, CT, the only child of Winslow and Janice Arnold. After high school, he attended Yale University followed by New York University School of Medicine. He married his wife Nancy in August of 1952. They raised five wonderful children: Jeff (Noreen), Tom (Marian), Ben, Julie (Chris) and Liz (John); and have eight amazing grandchildren: Alex, Hailey, Sadie (Chris), Zachariah, Havailah, Will, Jenny, Nehemiah, and one spectacular great-granddaughter: Zen. They all survive him.
He was a true Renaissance man who never lost his thirst for knowledge. Win’s natural curiosity and creative approach to problem solving served him well as a diagnostician at the Veterans Administration Hospital in White River Junction, VT.
Undaunted and with no carpentry experience, he built his family a house, a barn, and a three-story post-and-beam garage. Unbelievable!
Win will be sorely missed. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to Planned Parenthood of Northern New England and/or National Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Vermont.
