MERIDEN — The Kimball Union Academy girls soccer team will hit the road to open the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council Class C tournament this week.
The Wildcats (11-4-2) earned the fifth seed in the eight-team draw. They’ll travel to Dexter Southfield for a Wednesday quarterfinal at a to-be-announced starting time. Kimball Union, which wrapped up its regular season with a 5-0 win at Vermont Academy on Saturday, is the only KUA fall sports team to make the postseason this year.
Kimball Union won the New England Class C championship in 2016 and has reached the semifinals each of the last two years.
