HARTFORD — An EMT was injured on Saturday afternoon when the ambulance in which he was traveling rolled over on Interstate 89 southbound.
Alexander Wright, of St. Albans, Vt., who was seated in the back of the ambulance, sustained minor head lacerations when the Amcare ambulance rolled over at about 2:30 p.m., according to a Vermont State Police report. He was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center by other emergency personnel.
The driver, Dustin Domingue, of Sheldon, Vt., was not injured.
The ambulance was transporting a patient to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center at the time of the rollover. The patient, whose name was withheld, was transferred to Hartford EMS after the crash.
Witnesses said they saw the ambulance drift off the roadway and into the median near mile marker 5, causing it to roll over, the report said. An investigation is ongoing.
