WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — A 44-year-old Randolph woman received a deferred sentence for a case in which she was accused of having inappropriate conversations with a boy who was known to her.

Erica Gillette received a three-year deferred sentence in July, according to court records.

She pleaded guilty to a felony charge of attempted sexual exploitation in April.

Police say Gillette had inappropriate contact with the boy via text messages throughout the month of August 2018, according to an affidavit in the case. Some of the texts between Gillette and the boy, who was between the age of 13 and 15, were “sexually explicit” in nature, the affidavit indicates. The boy’s parents alerted police to the situation.
